Cuban Tree Frog
Osteopilus septentrionalis
Cuban tree frogs are the largest tree frog found in North America. Females can grow to almost 6 inches in length with males generally smaller. They have the ability to change color depending on their surroundings. They are nocturnal and are rarely active during the day unless there is food around or they are disturbed.
Cuban tree frogs are tolerant of a wide range of temperatures ranging from 78 to 88 degrees during the day and can go as low as 65 at night. They will attempt to eat almost anything that moves and might be able to fit into their mouth. They like crickets, wax worms, moths, earth worms, house flies, silkworms, roaches and slugs. They have been known to eat small lizards and frogs.
