Scouts & Overnights

Scouts

The Zoo offers a unique and fun way for Scouts to fulfill their Merit Badge requirements. Your Scouts will circle the Zoo with an animal expert, meet animals up-close, play games and complete scouting requirements along the way!

Overnights

What goes on in the Zoo once the rest of the guests leave? You'll find out when your group spends the night at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo! The Zoo provides an exciting opportunity for groups to camp in the heart of the city. Wake up to the sound of the whoop of the gibbons or the honking of the cranes. Our overnights are safe and easy. Your private guide will offer you an educational look at the Zoo and create an adventure you won’t forget.

The fun begins at 7 p.m. and ends the following morning at 9 a.m. Included in all of our overnights is the NightCrawlers Hike, a chance to hear the sounds and see the sights of the Zoo at night. We also provide the opportunity for close encounters with a variety of small critter encounter animals. Zoo games and crafts are also possible. Usually lights-out occurs between 11:30 pm and midnight.

The fee is $350 for a minimum of 12 including an adult representative. If your group is larger than 12, add $25 per person. This includes pizza and lemonade, and a continental breakfast in the morning.

Overnights are held throughout the year on Friday and Saturday nights, but some topics are only available seasonally.

So grab your sleeping bag and flashlight and we'll create an evening for you to remember! For more information, contact our education staff at 402.475.6741, ext.130.
