Baby Shower Gift Registry!

Help us celebrate the many births that occurred during this Zoo season!

This Zoo season has been exciting with the births of Ezra, a shetland pony and Yopno and Kuna, the twin Matschie’s tree kangaroos, whose news of their birth circled the globe as they are the first ever documented case of twins to a Matschie’s tree kangaroo.

The Zoo is also pleased to announce that on July 19, a red panda cub was born! This red panda has required being hand fed every three hours by the Zookeepers as its mother is unable to produce enough food to care for the cub.

Why not send a special gift by visiting our baby shower registry? Your donation to the registry will make you a member of Zoo Tots, our club to support the babies at the Zoo. From food to enrichment toys, the registry below is an exciting way for you to celebrate their birth and support the research surrounding these rare and endangered animals.

$5 will purchase enough food to feed a joey for one day.
$15 will purchase one syringe to help feed the red panda cub.
$50 will purchase stimulating enrichment items for the tree kangaroos.
$100 will provide a routine medical exam of a red panda cub.
$250 will purchase a mulberry tree so the joeys will have a fresh supply of leaves to eat.
$500 will send our Zookeeper to the national Matschie’s tree kangaroo conference so she can continue to learn proper care techniques for this species.

Special Red Panda Adoption

In addition we are offering a special red panda adoption in honor of the cub's birth for only $50. This adoption package, regulary priced at $75, includes the following:

A private scheduled visit with a Zookeeper and watch a weighing and feeding of the red panda cub for four people
Tour of diet kitchen and see where all animal meals are prepared
First name of donor will be displayed in the Zoo and on the Zoo’s website until October 15
An animal fun facts bookmark
An adoption certificate
A fact sheet about the red panda
An exclusive mini plush red panda
A 4 x 6 photograph of the red panda
$5 in McDonald’s gift certificates

Watching the keepers feed and weigh a baby red panda—magical! We took photo after photo. The baby, just beginning to look panda-like, was so tiny and so dependent we scarcely breathed. We did smile broadly, from the heart, and kept smiling for hours after. From that moment, we felt Reagan was our baby. What a treat to become a part of so special an event. The privilege of meeting a red panda baby and watching the care lavished on her is a joy not to be missed.
